I would tell your next semester students to always have a speech topic idea before the assignment is given. I would tell them to make their speeches a little longer than what is expected just in case you speed up because your nervous. I would tell them to make sure everything is turned in on time and that they practice their speeches religiously until the presentation. Also don't ad things in your speech that aren't on the outline.

I would advise them to learn their speech sooner and not wait until the last minute. This was on of my major problems for this class, but lucky for me I remembered most of it. I would tell them not to overreact to anything the teacher does its just the way she is wonderful and funny. I would also tell them that they need to try to complete their work and not procrastinate.

The most important thing for them to do is to study their speech more than the night before they have to give it. It won't be as hard then. I also think it is easier when we wrote a speech about something we knew more about. I would tell them that even if they are really nervous it will get better with the next speech they give.

I would tell them to make sure they get there stuff done on time! If they dont then they will get a bad grade on that speech and it will really hurt your grade!Another thing I would say is that this is not a hard class and people wont make fun of you if you mess up or anything! Mrs.Sims wont allow it! Have fun!

I would tell them that they definitely should not put off practicing their speech till the night before they have to give it. Practice practice practice! That will help you a lot. And don't get to stressed out or nervous about presenting your speech. Your first one will be a little nerve racking, but after that it'll be smooth sailing. :)

Have fun with Speech! If you take it too seriously, you'll never have any fun. But don't slack off completely, either. This is not just an easy A class. Work hard to memorize your speeches and get over your public speaking anxieties. I did, and you can too. Plus you have the best teacher ever for Speech! (And no that wasn't for brownie points I'm being honest!). Sims is fair, and always makes class enjoyable even if you're having a bad day.

First off I would tell them to study, study, oh and study. Even if you think you know your speech it can be very intimidating being in front of you peers, and that will make you go blank. Also have fun don't take things to seriously and don't freak out or that will come across in your speech. Have a ton of fun blogging and enjoy the next semester of high school.

I think I would tell your next semester students to make sure that they study their speeches from the day that they finish writing them all the way till time to give the speech especially there last speech. I really enjoyed this class and it is a lot of fun. So next semester students don't stress out you have nothing to worry about just study and memorize the speeches and you will do great. Oh and remember to keep eye contact with your audience.

Second semester students should know that this class is only as hard as you make it. You need to study your speeches, and not just cram the night before. They should also know that even though you get to use note cards, you shouldn't rely completely on them. Just like any other class you earn your own grade. This class is dual credit, and if you are trying to take it for that you should always strive to do better. You are getting this class for much cheaper, and Mrs. Sims is much nicer that any college professor..I'm sure.

I would tell them to make sure that they work hard all semester. and that they also need to make sure that they are good with computers, because you use them everyday. and I think that you need to have a really good sense of humor because the teacher is really funny, and she likes to make jokes and stuff like that. but as long as you can do what you are told and stuff like that then you will be fine. and that if you are not good at talking in front of people about things, you will be when you get done with her class. and it's really fun, so don't be too worried.

I think the most valuable thing I learned in speech class is that it's not as hard as you think, it really isn't. Once you get passed being nervous after the first few speeches, it becomes kind of fun. I suggest picking a topic that you already know or is a major part of your life. If you do this, then all you have to do is type your speech out. Since you know the topic so well, it becomes a breeze. I'm not saying don't practice, but pick a topic that you know a lot about.

I would definitely tell them that it's useless to be shy because you have to do your speech either way. Also, start memorizing your speech as soon as you have it done. It's really helpful if you can record your speech and listen to it and read along with it. I wish that I would have thought about recording my speeches before the final speech. I wouldn't have had any trouble memorizing the shorter speeches if I had recorded them all. Hmm... Outlines seem hard but you just have to do them. Don't strain your brain trying to figure out if you're doing it right or not. Just do it and it's a lot easier than if you stress about it. I would tell them that time management is important too, but that goes for every class, not just speech.

I would definitely tell them that they need to study their speeches as much as possible. If they forget last minute its okay because usually it comes back or Mrs. Sims can help. This is one of the best classes to take so don't give up!!!!!

DON'T WAIT! You think that it is going to be so easy to memorize your speech in a couple of hours. It isn't! Start memorizing as soon as you get done writing it. DON'T STRESS! Don't worry about making a fool of yourself in front of the other students. They are all just as nervous as you. Remember to have fun giving speeches. I know that that sounds weird but when you give speeches you need to sound excited and entertaining. Not like you are about to pass out from lack of breathing. This can be a very fun class or a very stressful class, it all depends on how you approach it.

I would tell next people that you have is to do your homework and learned your speech. I would also say is just have fun with it. Mis Sim is the best teacher every they would have. she is really nice. When you get up their and do your speech then you need to com down and do not get upset. It is ok. If you do what she say's then you will be ok. Just do not come in mad come in happy to learn new things. i like her as a teacher and I wish I could have her all the time.

I would say that never stress out. It's always good to know your speech and get your stuff done. Speech was a fun and very "interesting" class and if you come in with a positive attitude this class can be a lot of fun. Always practice your speech from the day you finish it until you give it. Talk in front of a mirror, or another person just to make sure you know it and that you don't get as nervous. Don't forget to always volunteer!!! :) Just have fun.

I would have to tell them that it is a pretty good class and pretty easy if you listen and know what you are doing. Mrs.Sims is a really good teacher and you can learn a lot from her and you will see that it goes by really fast. You may not like writing long stories or essays after this class you will love it and you wont want this class to ever end.

I would probably tell them to be prepared. Study their speeches really well. Make good note cards to that's always really important. And also don't be nervous to give a speech. You might be at first but it get's better. Just look at it this way at least your just in front of your class and not a whole big audience. But just be yourself and have a good time it is a really fun class and also be good to Mrs. Sims she is the best but just have fun and be prepared.

Don't be late to class and always make sure you either have your handbook with you or that you have some quarters with you. Also, try picking speech topics about things that you already know about so that you don't completely forget what your speech was about.

My advice for the next semester speech class would be look at your speech outline. I'm horrible at that and don't get the best grades on my speeches. Even if you only look at it for five minutes a night before you got to bed, that would be better than not at all. It's a great thing to get up there confidently and know your speech.

One thing that you need to make sure to do for next sememster is be organized. If you're not organized and forget what days everything is due then on speech day you are going to be really stressed and be hurrying to memorize your speech. THe best advice I can give is to study your speech from the day you finish writing the rough draft. And make sure to practice with someone other than yourself. That way when you get up in front of the class you don't get nervous and freak out and feel stupid.

My advice for next sememster would be practice practice practice. The worst thing you could do is wait until the last minute to learn your speech. Also don't panic if you mess up its not that big of deal. If you do mess up its ok just keep going and you will be fine. I hope that these tips help you.
